Since most folks get stressed out from time to time, there is that eternal question if depression is a real illness. The answer is: yes. The deadly one, that is. It has been stated that about 1 out of eight United States residents will likely become clinically depressed. Several experience it once in a lifetime, while others may have multiple episodes.

Manic depression is a genuine illness as it involves the mental, psychological and even physical performance of the person. The good thing is at the end of this dark tunnel called depression, there is hope. Treatment is available in 3 types: hypnosis, antidepressant medicine and the combo of the 2. There are also times when electroconvulsive remedy (ECT) and light remedy are employed.
